Faculty Services Guide: WVU College of Law

undefined

The Law Library provides robust and multidimensional support to WVU Law Faculty Research Assistants (RA's). The Law Library Student Worker Pool also is available upon request to help WVU Law Faculty with discrete projects.

Please contact Nick Stump at nicholas.stump@mail.wvu.edu to take advantage of these RA and Library Student Worker Pool research services. More information about these services is provided below.

Faculty Research Assistants Support

  • Upon hiring your RA, law librarians can schedule a one-on-one training with your RA to provide an introduction to library resources and services and to cover any legal and interdisciplinary research topics of your choosing.
  • Throughout the course of their work, law librarians can help your RA’s construct research plans, provide specialized tutorials as needed, and answer any RA reference questions.
  • The Law Library has standardized templates for literature reviews that RA’s can use to log, organize, and annotate their research work products. See below for a downloadable template for RA projects. Law librarians also can help customize research templates to suit your needs for specific projects.
  • WVU Law Faculty can grant RA's “proxy borrowing privileges,” which allows RA’s to check out WVU Libraries books on a faculty member's behalf. RA proxy borrowing privileges do not extend to books requested via ILLiad.

Library Student Worker Research Pool

WVU Law Faculty can request research assistance from the Law Library Student Worker Pool on discrete projects, including literature reviews, data entry projects, competitive intelligence projects, and more.
