The WVDEP promotes a healthy environment in West Virginia. WVDEP contains numerous agency divisions and quasi-judicial review boards.

West Virginia Air Quality Board

The Air Quality Board hears appeals on permit issuances or enforcement activities from the WVDEP Division of Air Quality Protection.

West Virginia Surface Mine Board

The Surface Mining Board hears appeals on permit issuances or regulation violations from the WVDEP Division of Mining and Reclamation.
