The following select federal agencies are related to Energy and Environmental Law. The general public can access all sources via free web links provided.

I. Federal Environmental Agencies 

Environmental Protection Agency

The EPA's mission is to protect the environment and human health.

Council of Environmental Quality

The Council of Environmental Quality oversees implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act and recommends policies to the president's office.

Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement helps oversee implementation of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Corps provides public and military engineering expertise including through issuance of regulatory permits impacting the nation's waters.

Department of the Interior

The DOI conserves the nation's natural resources, manages cultural heritage, and provides scientific expertise.  

Bureau of Land Management

The BLM manages the nation's public lands and resources for the benefit of present and future generations.

National Parks Service

The National Parks Service preserves the natural and cultural resources of the nation's parks system. 

United States Fish and Wildlife Service

The Fish and Wildlife Service manages conservation of the nation's fish and wildlife for the general public.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

FERC ensures safe, efficient, and reliable energy for consumers.

Energy Information Administration

EIA collects and disseminates energy information to support policymaking and public understanding.
