Microforms in the Downtown Library: Accessing & Citing Microform

Guide to viewing and copying microforms on the second floor of the WVU Downtown Library

Accessing & Citing Microform

- All microform is available for in-library use only. Microform checked out to you must be returned to the front desk. If repeated viewing of materials is needed, the items may be stored at the front desk until their due date.

- If you wish to access a microform in our collection, select the request option while signed in to your WVU account in the search catalog. The shelving location and call number information can be used to locate any microform items housed on-site.

- Citing an item found on microform requires collecting the same identifying information used to cite a print item, such as title, author, publisher, etc.

- The citation should also include the information needed to locate the item in microform — series title and identification numbers, etc. For more information, see the guide to citing microform sources from the Yale College Writing Center.

When Finished

As you remove a fiche or card, it is kind to leave a colored card in its place. There are colored cards on top of the cabinets for this purpose.
