EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS)

Getting Started

EDS allows users to search for and discover the majority of resources in the WVU library systems collection using a single search box. However, it is not a comprehensive listing and you may still need to consult specific databases when appropriate.

Quick Start Guide:

1

Log In with WVU Credentials

Log into EDS with your WVU credentials to access resources. This will create or sign you into a MyEBSCO account associated with your WVU credentials. In EDS, this allows you to create projects, resources, and save searches within EDS.

2

Organize and store your research

Creating a MyEBSCO account with EDS allows you to collect and organize items, bookmark search terms, re-run previous searches, and recall previously viewed items.  The account also displays saved items from EBSCO services and databases to which you are logged in.

Note: An EDS/MyEBSCO account is different than your Library Account which allows you to see items you have checked out and it is also different than logging into the library with DUO and your WVU credentials which allows you to access to items in EDS.

3

Discover Resources

Use the search box to discover resources in EDS. The filters under the search box allow you to limit your search and the advanced search allows you to apply more filters, search options, search publications, and select fields (title, author, etc.) to search.

4

Ask a Question

While you are using EDS, feel free to ask questions with the library chat box.

5

My library account

This link allows you to see physical items that you have checked out from the library, due dates, fines, and holds that you have on items.
