Electronic Resources Access Guide

Off-Campus Access Troubleshooting

Users will need to use a proxied or authenticated link from off-campus. More information about EZproxy can by found on the EZproxy page. When users access library resources from off-campus, they will be taken to the screen pictured below and prompted to sign in using their credentials. 

Users can tell that they are properly authenticated from off-campus by if they see WVU branding and if they see the proxy string in the URL (see the databases branding page for more information). 

If users are experiencing access issues, try the following steps:

  • Have the user clear their cookies
  • Have the user try using a different browser

Still Experiencing an Issue?

If all troubleshooting efforts have been exhausted, please submit a ticket to eresources and include as much information as possible, such as:

  • User's full name
  • User's WVU e-mail
  • Whether user is on or off campus
  • The issue(s) encountered
  • Screenshots, if possible
  • Where the link the user is linking from
  • Whether the user is having the same issue with other resources or if it is just one resource
  • Can you replicate the user's problem?
