       First initial of author. Author's last name, “Title of patent,” U.S. Patent x xxx xxx, Abbrev. Month, day, year.

                                If you found the patent online the format is different:
    Name of the invention, by inventor’s name. (year, month day). Patent Number [Type of medium]. Available: URL
