West Virginia Occupational Therapy Association"...was established in the 1970’s and has always been dedicated to representing the concerns and needs of occupational therapy practitioners throughout West Virginia. [Their] early accomplishments include:
-Obtaining statewide licensure for the profession of occupational therapy in 1978;
-Developing the first occupational therapy educational programs in the state;
-Advocating for a master’s degree program in occupational therapy at West Virginia University in 1996, and an associate degree program at the College of West Virginia in 1998;
-Convening the Great Southern Occupational Therapy Conference in 2000."
