Bloomberg Law for Legal Research

undefined

Bloomberg Law is a research platform that integrates Bloomberg's well-known news, company, and financial data with primary and secondary legal research sources.  Most notably is the integration of secondary sources and practice materials published by BNA.

To start, Bloomberg Law is best navigated by either a topical Practice Center or by type of legal matter.  See examples below on this page.  Other pages in this guide highlight special tools and resources unique to Bloomberg Law such as searching dockets, the Practical Guidance collection, news and current awareness, and company information.  In addition to this guide Bloomberg Law hosts the BLAW Skills Center which offers a certification course among other instructional resources.

Navigate Bloomberg Law by Practice Center

Bloomberg Law organizes content by subject matter into Practice Centers.  Practice Centers currently cover 16 different subjects which are accessible from the navigation menu.

Each Practice Center collects all of the related Bloomberg Law content on one specialized homepage including primary sources, secondary sources, Practical Guidance materials, and news.  Practice Centers can also be set as your homepage at log in. For example, Bloomberg Tax assembles all Bloomberg/BNA content including BNA portfolios.

Navigate Bloomberg Law by Type of Legal Matter

Bloomberg Law also organizes content based on sources and tools for the type of legal matter: litigation vs. transactional vs. business.
