West Virginia Government Information

West Virginia State Depository

WVU Libraries became a West Virginia state depository in January 1996. The libraries receive all documents published by state government agencies through the West Virginia Library Commission in Charleston.

All state documents under the depository program have been cataloged with the Library of Congress classification call numbers and can be located by using the Libraries’ online catalog. You can locate the Library's collection of state resources on the lower level of the Downtown Campus Library next to the Map Room. The West Virginia & Regional History Center houses an extensive collection of West Virginia state documents published before 1996 and can be found on the Sixth Floor of the Downtown Campus.
