Bloomberg Law offers expansive databases of company information and company financials as well as a comprehensive directory of corporate and legal professionals. Both of these specialized searches are available under the Business tab on the Bloomberg Law homepage.
Bloomberg Law Company Watchlist/Lookup
To find a company profile, enter the company name or ticker in the Company Lookup tool. Add companies to your "Watchlist" to create a custom landing page here.
A company profile contains financial information, management information and company hierarchy, law firms working for the company, the make up of case types currently being litigated with links to those case dockets, company related news, and more. Set an alert for updates to a profile or create a custom report for a company. An example of the profile for Facebook/Meta is depicted below.
Bloomberg Law People Search
To find the profile of an individual, use the advanced search form that appear when you choose People Search from the Business tab across the top of the Bloomberg Law homepage. In this form you see options to search by name, role, industry, and education, among other professional characteristics.
This can be useful in a number of ways from research to professional development, networking, and job searching. For example, you may search for individuals in the role of "Judge" who attended WVU College of Law. Or, search for individuals in the role of "General Counsel" in the energy industry.
A profile will have biographical information, career and education history, and news related to the individual. Profiles for attorneys and judges may also link to Bloomberg Law's Litigation Analytics tools for a more advanced look at their litigation outcomes.
