Databases

WVU Libraries licenses online databases, giving you access to academic and news articles, books, journals, primary sources, streaming media, and much more.

Some databases are generals such as Academic Search Complete, ProQuest Central, and Scopus which contain multiple subject areas and content types. Some databases are subject specific and contain resources on a focused area. Try out some databases for yourself or ask the library which works best for you.

General Databases

General purpose databases are good starting points for novice researchers. These databases contain all subjects and various format types such as academic titles, popular magazines, newspapers, and videos.

Document Specific Databases

There are general subject databases that also contain one type of document. For instance, the databases, Scopus, contains only peer-reviewed articles.

WVU Catalog

The WVU Catalog searches most library resources in a single unified search, including books, articles, media and more. The catalog also manages your library loans and you can renew items and check dues dates when logged in.
