Major Legal Databases

As a 1L, you will use Westlaw, Lexis, and HeinOnline intensively in your Introduction to Legal Research course, Legal Analysis, Reasoning, and Writing course, and for many doctrinal courses. The Law Library will email you instructions on activating each legal database. Please contact jenifer.dubetz@mail.wvu.edu with any activation or legal database access questions.

You also will use other legal databases and specialized online resources, such as Bloomberg Law and ProQuest Legislative Insight, during your 1L year. View information below on accessing these key resources.
