Welcome to the WVU College of Law Library

Your 1L year is an exciting and special time! You will have boundless opportunities to excel, lead, and grow. During your time at the College of Law, you will encounter a rigorous curriculum and rich academic community. This guide provides an overview of how the Law Library supports you on this important journey. The Law Library is a place where you will find key resources and services crucial to making your 1L year and your law school experience a success.  

What Does This Welcome Guide Cover?

  • The major legal research databases of Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, and HeinOnline.
  • Online study aids such as Gilberts, Concise Hornbooks, Examples and Explanations, Emanuels, and more.
  • The online exam repository with selected past exams, model answers, and rubrics from your WVU College of Law professors.
  • Reserving a study room in the library via our online reservation system.  
  • Law Library hours, the Law Library semester calendar, our physical space, and the print collection.

Law Library Schedule

WVU Law students have 24/7 swipe access to the Law Library. View the library's full semester calendar here. The Law Library's staffed hours are limited over semester breaks, and the library is closed without swipe access on home football game Saturdays. Law Library fall semester staffed hours are below.

Monday - Friday: 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

 

Tour the Law Library's first floor through an immersive 360-degree video. The video covers the library's main entrance, circulation desk, reference area, computer stations, soft seating, study tables, and print stacks.  

 

Access popular law school "academic success" e-books through our Online Study Aids Subscriptions below.
