Open Education Resources: WVU College of Law

A guide for law faculty authorship and course adoption of Open Education Resources ("OER") at the WVU College of Law.

WVU Law faculty can author and adopt Open Education Resources ("OER").

Why OER? Case law and other primary legal sources are in the public domain. Students also spend substantial funds on commercial casebooks and other legal education materials. Due to COVID-19, educators also are engaging in an intensive, renewed focus on best practices for online learning and pedagogy. Law faculty therefore may consider exploring OER resources at this opportune time.

This guide covers leading OER casebook platforms such as CALI eLangdell PressHarvard H20, and the WVU Open Access Textbooks initiative in addition to other law school OER resources, WVU resources, and the "OER Starter Kit."
