Law Library Access and Services during COVID-19

Overview: Law Library Access and Services

The Law Library’s highest priority is to provide information resources and support for our staff, students, faculty, and users while safeguarding the health, well-being, and academic success of all our faculty, staff, students, and users.

This spring we closed our library stacks and library space in response to the pandemic.  We will open our stacks and portions of the library space to members of the College of Law and WVU communities on August 15, 2020. All WVU Law students, faculty and staff must swipe their WVU ID to enter the Law Library. WVU patrons not affiliated with the College of Law cannot swipe in and must call 304-293-5300 to make an appointment to visit the Law Library.  Some parts of the Law Library will remain closed for the foreseeable future due to continuing concerns regarding the health and well-being of our users.  Additionally, the library will have limited hours in the evenings and weekends.  Persons using the library are expected to follow all University and library guidelines including social distancing and mask protocols.  Reference services will be conducted remotely.  Please see the related tabs in this guide for more information.

The Law Library will be open via swipe access 8:00 A.M.–10:00 P.M. Mondays through Fridays and 12:00 P.M.–5:00 P.M. Sundays. The library will be staffed 8:00 AM to until 8:00 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays and 5:00 P.M. Fridays and Sundays. The library is closed on Saturdays.  Please note, there is no access outside of the stated hours.   Please see the library’s calendar for further information.

Physical access will remain closed to all non-WVU users until further notice. While physical access to the Law Library is restricted, the Law Library remains open. The Law Library staff is available and continues to work remotely to fulfill your information needs.

The Law Library has acquired access to a significant amount of digital content such as popular study aids in response to COVID-19. Please see the related tab in this guide for more information.
