Introduction to the Library

The library will have a lot to contribute to your academic success. We have dedicated subject librarians for your course of study who can meet with you to help with your research projects. This guide gets you started on developing a research topic, creating search strategies, and finding resources at the WVU Libraries.

Getting Started

WVU Libraries Website
Find and access all of the resources available to you through the WVU library systems using the libraries' website.
WVU Catalog
The catalog allows you to search for resources owned by the library as well as resources we can request from other libraries using Illiad (interlibrary loan).
Databases
Check out and explore specialized databases in your subject area. If you have any questions about using a database then ask a librarian.
Illiad - Interlibrary Loan
You can use the interlibrary service Illiad to request materials not owned by the library for free. Login in with your WVU credentials.
