Subject Headings are terms or phrases that best summarize the overall contents of a work and provide access to its most important topics, and they can be very useful as you search for books.
You can explore LCSH on the Library of Congress website and through our catalog. Go to Advanced Search and set the filter to "Subject Heading."
In print books, you can typically find LCSH on the copyright page.

In the library catalog, click on an item and scroll down to see its LCSH. You can click on any of the subjects listed to view ALL items that correspond to that subject.
