Yes. Access to the Downtown, Evansdale, and Health Science Libraries will be available by swipe card access for students, faculty and staff. Please be sure to bring your ID card to enter the building. You must have a valid wellness pass to enter Library buildings on the Morgantown campus, as well.
Beginning on September 7, no food or drinks is permitted in Morgantown campus libraries.
As with the rest of campus, wearing a mask is required in all our facilities. Users will also need to use seating in the manner in which it is laid out to practice physical distancing.
Interlibrary borrowing and lending for books and other returnable materials has resumed. Please use ILLiad to make requests for all materials. E-ZBorrow ordering will be handled by library staff. Please use ILLiad for all requests and indicate in the notes if E-ZBorrow is important to you. Locate the book in WorldCat Discovery and then use the "Request ILLiad" button to request a loan. Unfamiliar with ILLiad? Use the menu on the left for more details.
Upon arrival books will be quarantined for 72 hours, making the time from ordering to pick up slightly longer than normal. Please plan accordingly. Interlibrary loan for articles and nonreturnable material is on-going. Please continue to submit requests through your ILLiad account, as usual.
The Libraries are open to Emeritus Faculty, following guidelines from the Provost's Office. “Only those emeritus faculty actively contributing to the research, teaching, or service mission of the unit should be on campus in the fall. Such active engagement would include scheduled interaction with students and work on externally funded research projects. These emeritus faculty, like other members of the University community, are required to take a COVID-19 test, complete the COVID-19 educational module, and participate in the daily wellness survey.”
Please remember that a current Mountaineer Card is necessary to enter the buildings. For Mountaineer Card Help, phone ITS at 304-293-4444.
If you can't or shouldn't to come to the library and you need materials mailed to you, whether owned by WVU or borrowed from another institution, let us know the best address to which we should mail materials. When returning materials, you can drop them in one of the outside book drops at the Downtown Campus or Evansdale libraries or we will send you a prepaid envelope. Please let us know the best address to which we should send the mailing label.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we can renew your books. Make sure to include your full name and WVU ID number in the email. Don't worry about late fees; we are waiving all overdue fines during this time. However, because we do need to get materials back, we are still charging a replacement fee for materials that don't get returned or renewed.
The HathiTrust ETAS program ended when the libraries reopened. Books that were available online through the emergency temporary access are once again available in print from library collections.
Continue to submit requests for chapters, and articles in ILLiad. When the material is received at the Library, we will deliver it electronically (articles). We will mail WVU print books. Let us know the best address to which we should mail materials.
Our librarians are available online to work with you on your research in a way that convenient for you.
