WVU Libraries became a West Virginia state depository in January 1996.  The libraries receive all documents published by state government agencies through the State Publications Clearing House in Charleston.

All state documents under the depository program have been cataloged with the Library of Congress classification call numbers and can be located by using the Libraries’ online catalog . The West Virginia and Regional History Collection  houses an extensive collection of West Virginia state documents published before 1996.
