SEAALL Annual Meeting 2019

March 21-23, 2019

Service Project

Each year, the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL) identifies opportunities for SEAALL members to serve the local community in the host city of our annual conference.  This year, we want to raise awareness, money and in-kind donations for Project Horizon in Lexington, Virginia.

Please help us support Project Horizon by making a donation through our page. The process is fast, easy and secure. If you would like to make an in-kind donation, Project Horizon has provided an address to which suggested items can be mailed.

Thank you so much for your support! Please do not forget to pass this information on to any friends or members you think might be interested in donating.

Information about Project Horizon

Mission:

Project Horizon is dedicated to reducing domestic, dating, and sexual violence in the Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County area through crisis intervention services and prevention programs.

We are here to help, and provide services to anyone who is experiencing domestic, dating violence or sexual assault. These free and confidential services include a 24-hour hotline (463-2594), emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, applicable referrals, and legal advocacy. It is our goal to work with survivors and to provide support, information and education to help survivors meet their individual goals and create a community, through our outreach initiatives and prevention programs, that is healthy and safe.

History:

This non-profit agency began in 1982 as a grassroots effort to provide confidential services free of charge to battered women in the Rockbridge County area. In 1996, Project Horizon merged with the Rockbridge Area Coalition Against Sexual Assault (RACASA) and began providing services to victims of dating, domestic, and sexual violence.
