The Radiography program at West Virginia University Hospitals is a 2- year (23 month) certificate program offering comprehensive clinical and didactic education in Radiologic Technology. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (www.jrcert.org). Successful completion qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification exam in Radiography pending A.R.R.T review and approval. Nuclear Medicine

The Nuclear Medicine program at West Virginia University Hospitals is a 12 month certificate program designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in Nuclear Medicine Technology through didactic instruction and applied clinical education. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Nuclear Medicine (JRCNMT). Successful completion qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) exam and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification exam in Nuclear Medicine.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program at WVU’s Center for Advanced Imaging is a 12- month certificate program offering comprehensive didactic & clinical education in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Successful completion qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) primary certification exam in MRI pending A.R.R.T review and approval of the applicant. The Program is sponsored by West Virginia University Hospitals and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (Contact info listed below under Links) (www.jrcert.org)

Radiation Therapy

The Radiation Therapy program at West Virginia University Hospitals is a 12 month certificate program consisting of approximately 40 hours per week of clinical and didactic instruction. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology  (www.jrcert.org). Successful completion qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification exam in Radiation Therapy pending A.R.R.T. review and approval. 

Diagnositic Medical Sonography

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at West Virginia University Hospitals is an 18 month certificate program specializing in Abdominal, Obstetrical & Gynecological Sonography. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in cooperation with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS). Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) examination administered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).  Successful completion of the SPI examination then qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the ARDMS specialty certification examinations in abdomen and obstetrics & gynecology.
