A quick guide to using APA citation style

Article or Page from a Website

General Rule:

Author. (Last updated date). Title of page [Format description if needed]. Retrieved from http://www.xxxxx

Examples:

American Psychological Association. (2012). Ethics. Retrieved from http://www.apa.org/topics/ethics/index.aspx

Hume-Pratuch, J. (2012, May 31). A prescription for success: how to cite product information in APA style [Blog post]. Retrieved from http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2012/05/how-to-cite-product-inserts-in-apa-style.html

Cite a specific page or document from a website rather than a whole site whenever possible.  For more on citing web sources, read this helpful blog post from the APA: How to Cite Something You Found on a Website in APA Style
