THEATRE 160 - Theatre Fundamentals: Finding Primary Sources

Library Databases, Digital Collections, and Museums

An Example From Fold3 Database

MLA Style Citation

Soards' New Orleans City Directory.  Vol. 24.  New Orleans: L. Soards, 1897.

Citing Primary Sources

Citing primary sources can be a challenge, because they often do not have a handy title page with all the necessary parts of a typical citation.  For examples of MLA citations for some other types of sources, see the Purdue OWL website examples.  And of course, the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, available in print at the Evansdale Library and the Downtown Library (call number LB2369 .G53 2009, Reference).
