The Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI) database provides access to information testing/evaluation instruments in the health fields, psychosocial sciences, organizational behavior, and library and information sciences. Years of coverage is from 1985 to present, with quarterly updates.  HaPI is availble on WVU's EBSCOhost platform.

Examples of instruments included in this database are questionnaires, interview schedules, checklists, index measures, coding schemes/manuals, rating scales, projective techniques, vignettes/scenarios and tests.  HaPI assists researchers, practitioners, educators, administrators, and evaluators to identify measures needed for research studies, grant proposals, client/patient assessments, class papers/projects, thesis/dissertations, and program evaluation.



  • Use the Advance Search to look for your search terms such as "ME Measure" this will produce more meaningul results
  • Clicking on the title of the instrument will probide links to other measurement instruments for similar subjects. It will also provide a reference for the instrument's original source and sample descriptors which may help in subsequent searches.
  • If the instrument is not commerically available, contact the first authors in the original source to obtain permission to use this instrument.
  • Results may be added to a folder and then emailled, printed, saved, or exported.
